Samantha & Tayler

Sam & Tayler were married on a beautiful Fall day in late October.  The getting ready, ceremony, and reception all took place at the beautiful NAV Centre.

When I was capturing the girls getting ready it took me awhile to figure out that the maid of honour and another bridesmaid were identical twins.  It actually took them being in the same room getting ready at the same time to figure it out!

The ceremony in particular stands out as it was located on a hill overlooking the lovely St. Lawrence River and was surrounded by some beautiful Fall foliage.  After the lovely outdoor ceremony took place, the wedding party and I took a quick walk to the portrait location.  While doing my ever popular “Pretend like it’s the last beer in the world prompt”, for the first time the guys took my out while racing for the beer!  Don’t worry me and my camera were fine, but I’m not kidding when I say that guys take this prompt very seriously!!

The dinner and reception were a blast and I not only enjoyed my fellow dinner table guests, but all of the dance floor antics!  There were some truly great moves that night.

One of the bridesmaids had a young daughter in attendance, and every time that I went to take a picture of her she held up one of the instant camera’s to her face.  Future photographer?  I think so!

Congratulations Samantha & Taylor!  It was so great meeting and working with you both!

Mandie & Brandon

Mandie and Brandon got married on Thanksgiving weekend surrounded by many loving friends and family.  The foliage was at it’s peak in lovely St. Raphaels which made the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

I started my day at the parents of the groom’s home where Brandon and the boys were getting ready.  The tears started when mom was adjusting Brandon’s boutonniere.  Once the tears passed and everyone was ready, we headed to the backyard for some shots of Brandon and his groomsmen.  Brandon purchased custom sunglasses for each of them,  with their role in the wedding imprinted on the sides of them.  They looked amazing!

Next stop was Mandie’s house where the girls were getting ready.  Everyone looked great in their floral robes when I arrived, but I asked them to quickly remove them so I could get a shot of them hanging on the gorgeous barn-board wall in Mandie’s living room.  The rain stopped for about an hour so we headed to the backyard which overlooked a field that was lined with trees in every colour.  It was gorgeous!

The ceremony took place across the street at Mandie’s fathers farm.  They turned the shed into an intimate and cozy spot for a lovely ceremony.  The pitter patter of rain on the tin roof added to the cozy atmosphere.  There were many tears when Mandie and Brandon recited their personalized vows to each other.

After the ceremony, the wedding party all got on a school bus (love that idea) and headed down the street to The Ruins where we took the remainder of the photos for the day.

I was so honoured to be asked to photograph this lovely wedding!  It ended up being a perfect day with wonderful people.  Congratulations to you both!

Josee & Nick

On September 7th Josee & Nick were married at the lovely Munroe’s Mills Barn in Apple Hill.  This was my first wedding at this venue and it was absolutely gorgeous.  There were so many beautiful spots to take photos on the property.  A photographer’s dream!

After taking some shots of the guys getting ready, I headed over to the brides parents home where the bride and her “tribe” were getting ready.  Normally instead of “tribe” I would say bridesmaids here, but there was one unique feature to Josee’s wedding party.  She had a “Man of Honour”!  Her best friend is male, so it was very important to her that he stood be her side.  He wore an amazing suit that was the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses.  Next we headed to two cemeteries where the bride wanted to honour her deceased grandparents by leaving a single white rose on each of their tombstones.

We then headed to Munroe’s Mills for the ceremony.  It was slightly raining at this point so I was a bit worried about the photos.  Luckily enough after the ceremony it didn’t rain, but created a backdrop of a beautiful stormy sky for all of the wedding party and couple images.  The bride really wanted some pictures under a willow tree, so before heading to the reception we made that happen.

The rest of the evening was spent at the newly renovated reception room at The Ramada Inn in Cornwall.  It was filled with some amazing speeches, a delicious dinner and lots of laughter!   Congratulations to two wonderful people!  Wishing you both all the best!

Complimentary Engagement Session

I know that the months leading up to your wedding day are really busy.  Many people ask why do we need an engagement session done?  It’s important for several reasons. It gives us a chance to work together and get to know each other before the wedding. It helps you to practice and relax in front of the camera before the big day. Your engagement session can also serve as a makeup and hair trial.

It’s complimentary with all of my wedding packages, so why not take advantage of it!
