Brooke & Jory
Brooke & Jory got married on August 31st and was the first of two weddings that I would shoot that long weekend. I started my day with Brooke and the girls at one of the huge suites at the Nav Centre where they all got ready. There was music, dancing, champagne and lots of excitement in the air! I then headed over to where the guys were getting ready to take a few shots, and was so happy to see the groom and the groomsmen in kilts! I quickly found out that what they say is true……….guys don’t wear anything underneath them!
The ceremony was located outdoors at the Williamstown Fairgrounds. The big beautiful sky was full of white fluffy clouds and the sounds of the bagpiper were in the air. After the joyous ceremony, the bride and groom walked down the aisle while guests threw rose pedals at them which made for some gorgeous photos. The dinner was a delicious pig roast and buffet, followed by lots of dancing and drinking late into the night.
Congratulations Brooke and Jory on your new journey together!
Mabel & Francois
On September 1st, Mabel & Francois were married in the gorgeous backyard of his sister’s home in Williamstown. If I had to describe this wedding in three words it would be intimate, colourful and happy.
The ceremony took place under a beautiful tree in front of about 50 guests. The couple chose to write their own vows and I can assure you there wasn’t a dry eye among the guests. Mabel told her 3 bridesmaids that they could choose any bridesmaid dress they wanted…….as long as it was colourful! And they did not disappoint. Mabel broke tradition by wearing a colourful gown of her own to her wedding. It was a beautiful blue dress with hints of gold in it to match her shoes. The bridesmaids also skipped tradition by each wearing a beautiful floral wristband instead of carrying a bouquet. Speaking of bouquets, Mabel had one of the most colourful and beautiful bouquets I have ever seen!
Guests arrived from all over the world including the bride’s homeland, Holland. To say that these two like to travel is an understatement. They have traveled all over the world and actually met while working in Panama. They brought a bit of that international flavour into their wedding day by surprising guests with a mariachi band during dinner. It was fabulous!
You might notice something missing in these pictures. The groom has requested not to post any pictures of him on social media so I’ve had to get a little creative here. Let me just tell you that he is a very handsome, kind, and sincere person.
Congratulations to two of the most sincere people around. May you enjoy many years of happiness together!
Josee & Nick
On September 7th Josee & Nick were married at the lovely Munroe’s Mills Barn in Apple Hill. This was my first wedding at this venue and it was absolutely gorgeous. There were so many beautiful spots to take photos on the property. A photographer’s dream!
After taking some shots of the guys getting ready, I headed over to the brides parents home where the bride and her “tribe” were getting ready. Normally instead of “tribe” I would say bridesmaids here, but there was one unique feature to Josee’s wedding party. She had a “Man of Honour”! Her best friend is male, so it was very important to her that he stood be her side. He wore an amazing suit that was the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses. Next we headed to two cemeteries where the bride wanted to honour her deceased grandparents by leaving a single white rose on each of their tombstones.
We then headed to Munroe’s Mills for the ceremony. It was slightly raining at this point so I was a bit worried about the photos. Luckily enough after the ceremony it didn’t rain, but created a backdrop of a beautiful stormy sky for all of the wedding party and couple images. The bride really wanted some pictures under a willow tree, so before heading to the reception we made that happen.
The rest of the evening was spent at the newly renovated reception room at The Ramada Inn in Cornwall. It was filled with some amazing speeches, a delicious dinner and lots of laughter! Congratulations to two wonderful people! Wishing you both all the best!
Complimentary Engagement Session
I know that the months leading up to your wedding day are really busy. Many people ask why do we need an engagement session done? It’s important for several reasons. It gives us a chance to work together and get to know each other before the wedding. It helps you to practice and relax in front of the camera before the big day. Your engagement session can also serve as a makeup and hair trial.
It’s complimentary with all of my wedding packages, so why not take advantage of it!
