Back on August 11th, I shot the most beautiful, intimate waterfront wedding of Natasha & Stephan. Their story started back in high school where they had mutual friends and attended the same parties. It wasn’t until many years later that their love story began though, thanks to Facebook. Tasha was online complaining about a cancelled flight to snowy Newfoundland. Out of the blue Steph messaged her to cancel that flight and book a flight down to Mexico instead. They have been together ever since!
Fast forward a few years to Steph’s proposal. It was a regular Saturday afternoon and they were getting ready to attend a Garth Brooks concert. Steph announced to Tasha that he had got them a new puppy and that they should get married so that the puppy knew they would be together forever. How cute is that!
Now back to the wedding day. The day started when I first visited Steph at his parents house for some photos. I quickly noticed that something wasn’t right with Steph. He was in extreme pain. The night before, in preparation for the wedding, he had lifted a keg of beer and pulled his back out. The poor guy had to spend his day in pain. Apparently a few beers at the reception from said Keg, helped relieve the pain just a tad.
Some of the amazing vendors involved with this wedding were:
Makeup: Poppin Make-up and More
Hair: Dandoo’s Hair Salon+
Officiant: Denise Labelle-Gelinas
Kegs: Rurban Brewing
I love the fact that Steph chose his children to stand by his side at the wedding. His daughter (pictured below) along with his sons did a great job!
Next stop was the bride’s parents gorgeous log home backing on to the St Lawrence River. Their backyard was transformed into a perfect wedding paradise.
Inside the bride was busy with her bridesmaids getting ready and memorizing her vows.
At last it was time to walk down the aisle and see her groom.
After they were escorted back down the aisle with a bagpiper, it was time for a drink and some pictures!
Bridesmaids and friends for 30 years!!
And finally some time alone with the couple.
There were so many beautiful and personal details at this wedding! I loved the maple syrup wedding favours from local vendor Allister MacDonell.
This spot was truly Natasha & Stephan’s happy place on their wedding day! Wishing them both many years of happiness!
